HackerNest Tech Socials are a fun, relaxed way to connect with your local tech community. Atmosphere: chill, friendly, unpretentious, agenda-free (no sales pitch), and brimming with Ultra Smart People.

Follow us on Twitter and Instagram, like us on Facebook, hi-5 us in person!

The typical Tech Social agenda:

– folks arrive, grab drinks, socialize

– quick announcements, thank sponsors

– back to chatting

– head home, exhilarated from great conversations!

HackerNest Tech Socials are Entry by Donation – any amount appreciated, but $10 suggested. No amount is too little! If a cash donation is too restrictive, please join us anyway – just let us know at the door.

düber is hiring! We have a flat structured, fast-paced work environment very suitable for open-minded people who value autonomy. We have a polyglot mindset, and are looking for great developers with experience with various design patterns (bonus points for CQRS and Event Sourcing), opinions on why some tools are better for tackling certain problems than others, and a desire to help build out an amazing team and product. Check out #contracts_and_jerbs on yvrdev.slack.com (yvrdev.com for an invite) for more info.

We’re on the lookout for easy to access offices with space that can fit our audience (standing-room only). Please email [email protected] or [email protected] if you’d like to host a Tech Social!

ProtoHack is a day long hackathon-like competition where anyone can team up, come up with an idea, prototype it, refine it through mentorship, prepare a presentation, and pitch it to a panel of judges; all for a shot at winning prizes aimed to help you start up.
